At the end of 2018 / start of 2019 I had an exhibition of paintings of my new home town, Zlin, in the east of the Czech Republic. I had moved here in April 2018 and started to paint the town soon after arriving.

The exhibition was held in Gulliver, a new cultured cafe in Zlin.

The title of the title was Zli Zlin "evil Zlin", however I had misspelt "evil" as an attempt to make a pun on the town's name - I'm still unsure of how people genuinely felt about my attempt at this. It felt so inviting, the similarity of the words, I couldn't resist.

This collection had followed on from silhouetted style I had developed from the tramscape paintings - dark shapes and silhouettes. I won't say anymore, and leave my paintings to hopefully say the rest.
